This year’s general election voting ends in less than a week but there is still time to make sure your vote counts!
A record-breaking 1 million New York State residents have already voted at an early voting site, and another 842,000 have turned in an absentee ballot!
People across the country are fired up about voting this year, and we know this is a critical time for us, as well.
Anti-hunger advocates are coming out to vote because we know that charitable giving and the emergency food network can never end hunger alone. We need leaders in office who are fighting to protect and strengthen programs that help people sustainably beat hunger – programs like SNAP, the nation’s first line of defense against hunger, and WIC, and school meals. These programs have “bang for the buck” like emergency food will never see. For every one meal the food banks and their networks provide, SNAP provides nine.
So, have you voted to end hunger?
If you haven’t voted yet, here’s what you need to know:
Early voting sites are open in all six counties through Sunday, November 1. Click your county below to see times and locations. You can also drop off a completed absentee ballot at these locations (without waiting in line!) whenever they are open through this Sunday. Just make sure to follow the instructions on the absentee ballot fully.

Why vote early?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, planning ahead is critical. You may plan to vote in person at your regular polling site on Election Day (this coming Tuesday, November 3). But what happens if you get a call to alert you that you’ve been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and need to quarantine? Best to get it done as soon as possible. Many sites have had wait times, so come prepared with layers of clothing, a book to read, or even a camp chair to relax in! Protecting and supporting hunger-fighting programs and the people they serve are why this election, and every election, is so important.
Make a plan to vote today and stick to it!
