5th Annual Selfless Elf 5K Run/Walk

Join the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and our mascot, Jingles the Elf, to run or walk to end hunger in the wonderful Village of Horseheads! 
This event is for everyday runners, serious runners and walkers alike.
Selfless Elf is family friendly and we hope it will add to your holiday spirit of giving!

This year's Selfless Elf is at Thorne Street Park in Horseheads! The run/walk starts at 3:00 PM. (Coming from the West, click here for directions    Coming from the East, click here for directions.)

Where Can I Park? – Parking is permitted in the high school parking lots, little league and football field lots, Maple Grove Park and other lots nearby. Please see the route map for details. Helper Elves will be on hand to assist, but  the majority of parking lots near Thorne St Park will be inaccessible and will fill up fast so plan to arrive early. Do not park in unauthorized parking lots or on the street along the route.

When Can I Pick Up My Bib & Gift bag? – NEW this year - Pick up packets at Arnot Mall Center Court on Friday, November 30th from 3:30 to 6:00 PM or on event day from 12 to 2:45 PM.

The Route

The new USATF certified 5K route is once again in the Village of Horseheads and on closed roads. The route starts in Thorne Street Park, loops around the Village of Horseheads and ends with a Finish Line Celebration in the park. The route will be supported with Helper Elves and police and roads will remain closed from 3:00-4:00 pm. After that time, any remaining walker elves must move onto sidewalks. view the route online here.

Schedule 
The start time of the run/walk is 3:00 PM. Day-of packet pick up starts at noon and closes at 2:45 PM so come early to find parking, buy elf merch, visit Santa sponsored by Hesselson's, get your face painted by Painted Love and get a picture taken at the Elfie Station photo booth sponsored by Party Time!

4:15   Awards & Results announcements at the Finish Line Celebration in Thorne Street Park

Keep Fundraising! – Help provide even more meals for our neighbors in need by setting up a fundraising page or supporting a fellow Elf. Help us meet our $10,000 fundraising goal – get family and friends to support your walk or run to end hunger. Every $10 provides 30 meals!

A prize for the Top Fundraiser and Top Fundraising Team will be awarded! Click here to set up your own fundraising page. Cash and Check donations can be dropped off at packet pick up.

SOUPer Elf Soup Drive – NEW this year thanks to requests from our Selfless Elves - a SOUPer Elf Soup Drive! Bring 5 cans of soup to the Park and get a free gift sponsored by Hilliard Corporation. (Must bring 5 cans per person to get gift, while supplies last.)

But First, Let me take an “Elfie” – This year’s selfie, I mean “elfie”, station is hosted and sponsored by Party Time. The first 300 elves at the booth will get a photo strip of your best elf faces!

Blitzen Beverage Garden – Grab a Selfless Elf pint glass and mix and mingle in the Blitzen Beverage Garden with The FarmHouse Brewery, Upstate Brewing and Finger Lakes Distilling!
