You Grow Hope for Enfield Elementary Students

Oct 21, 2025 | FBST, Foodbank Blog

Enfield Elementary’s School Food Center delivers fresh, nutritious food to children and families who need it most.

Your kindness and commitment not only ensures no child in Enfield goes hungry, but it led to a new partnership between the center and Earlybird Nursery in Ithaca. With the help of County Legislator Randy Brown, Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County, and other community members, 50 free plant starters were distributed to students to take home and grow.

By providing these plants, families have an opportunity to connect and inspire healthy habits that last a lifetime, while children gain a better understanding of where their food comes from.

Teachers have shared how excited the students were to choose their plants and watch them grow. One teacher said, “The children couldn’t wait to take their plants home. Their joy and curiosity remind us every day why the School Food Center and strong community partnerships matter.”

Thank you for making it possible for Earlybird Nursery to feed, support, and inspire children in Enfield.
